St Giles has always seeked God’s guidance for what He may be calling us to in terms of being a resourcing church within the town. We seek to deepen our partnerships with others in the cause of building God’s Kingdom through church planting and fresh expressions of church.
Our latest commitment is to St Columba church in Collingtree.
St Columba, Collingtree Until recently the parish of Collingtree was part of a group of five rural parishes (The Salcey Benifice). With the building of Collingtree Park and the forthcoming Rowtree housing development Collingtree has been established as separate parish with Rev'd James Howson appointed to oversee St Columba Church in Collingtree. St Columba was a missionary who travelled widely, spreading the gospel and planting churches around Ireland and Scotland. Inspired by this tradition wehave partnered with St Columba Collingtree and planted a team there in 2021 to work with the church community to develop a thriving and vibrant church. |

Rev James Howson is Associate Minister at St Giles

The Rev‘d James Howson says, ”the church of St Columba looks forward to working together with St Giles as we develop new ministries and ways of being church. We look forward to welcoming you and pray that God will richly bless those who join us in this ministry. We pray that God will encourage and strengthen us for the journey ahead.” The parish of St Columba consists of Collingtree Village, Collingtree Park where a new housing development of 800 homes is currently being built. This will provide us with fresh opportunities to share the gospel. If you wish to know more or would like to be involved please call James on 01604 555020 or email him at James |
St Giles has a long history of planting new churches and partnering with existing church communities as part of our commitment to mission and growth. Over the years we have sent and commissioned a number of teams to go and support or pioneer new church initiatives in and around Northampton, and we have continued to support these ventures in various ways including in our commitment to prayer.
