General Data Protection Regulation

The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect on 25th May 2018.  There are special provisions for churches but there are a number of things we need to do to comply by this date.

  1. We have undertaken a comprehensive audit of all the data we hold about individuals such as address, phone number and email address.  To see a record of the process we followed please click the link below:

  2. We have reviewed our procedures to ensure this data is secure and cannot be shared without the owner’s permission.  We have created a Privacy Notice which was reviewed by the PCC on March 19th.  This notice sets out clearly what we do with personal data we hold.   3. We need to obtain your consent to keep your information.  This will take some time to get everyone’s consent.  We began this process on Sunday 25th March and are aiming complete the exercise by the APCM (29th April).  You can download a copy of the consent form by clicking the link below or alternatively we will have the consent form in church for you to complete and sign.

We’re well prepared but we do need your cooperation to get everything ready before the regulation comes into effect.
