We are passionately committed to making a difference in the lives of others by reaching out in practical ways to needs in Northampton and to serve others with our time, interest and giving to show the generosity of God.
Many Christian churches are responding by encouraging people to look out for their neighbours and respond to local needs in appropriate, safe ways. We have been working with the Northampton Borough Council and the emergency night shelter to respond to the needs of rough sleepers. We also work closely with local churches to provide food for food banks for those in acute need.
There are 2 centres, one in the town centre and one in Weston Favell.
We try to be generous in everything we do as a church. Our involvement often involves sacrificial giving of time and money, both as individual members and as a whole church. We invite people to give financially, as part of their discipleship, either through regular committed giving or one-off donations to specific project needs. Full details of how to give can be found here.
A key scripture which guides all our involvement is “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” John 20:21. Christians are sent! We’re on a mission! It’s the commission he has given to all of His followers. To pursue this mission, we have long-term partnerships with a number of local and organisations who are shaped and inspired by Christian values. They are working to serve and bless other people, including those who are needy and vulnerable. The Mission on our Doorstep page provides further information.
We don’t see people as projects or problems but rather as individuals with dignity and value. Our Christian faith inspires our action and we aim for long term commitment and relationship rather than short term fixes.
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
