As Christians, the first call on our lives is to “love God and love our neighbour.” This is the so-called Great Commandment. The gospels tell the story of how Jesus came to earth to challenge people to make this their goal. But it wasn’t just an instruction to ‘be a better person’, or ‘try harder to think of others’ but rather to become a disciple… to "come and follow him".
This prayer, from Lectio 365, expresses it very well:
Father, help me to live this day to the full,
being true to You, in every way.
Jesus, help me to give myself away to others,
being kind to everyone I meet.
Spirit, help me to love the lost,
proclaiming Christ in all I do and say. Amen.
Here at St Giles, we look for creative and helpful ways to help each and every person to grow and develop in their faith and for each one of us become more like Jesus.

We want to do everything we can to help people to discover this kind of life and for each of us to grow in depth, maturity and fruitfulness. Come and join us in discovering this for ourselves.
